Computer science?

im goina be studying physics with computer science in university so my question is , what kinda stuff does computer science involve... like... what will i be learning basically? ( forget the physics bit i know all that)

Computer science?
Most computer science courses deal with programming and such. Few offer hardware courses. so mostly you will be dealing with ethics and programming as well as some networking and math. Hope this helps
Reply:It requires a strong mathematical base... such as Calculus, Discrete Mathematics(logic), Probability and Statistics, Automata Theory, etc etc... All this is to help you in writing efficient code, artificial intelligence, understand computer architecture etc etc..





There are also some programming courses.


So basically you will be learning math, programming, and computer architecture stuff





and this not about fixing a computer! jajaja. I don't know how to fix it. Its mostly theory





Some areas that Computer Science majors work on are... embeded applications, such as the ones found in cars/cellphones, etc..





Or working with database systems, etc etc...





AND its not easy! Its probably one of the toughest majors! since it requieres a lot of advanced mathematics and in combination with the programming classes, they take a lot of time and effort.





But if you like it, go for it. but don't do it just for the money!
Reply:If you don't like studying about the actual mathematical design logic of digital computers, you may not like a lot of the old time computer science courses I'm familiar with. I'm an electrical engineer and liked the physics courses a lot better than computer science courses which were kind of abstract mathematics rather than applied science type of physics and engineering courses. The trouble with the computer software part of it in my opinion is that sometimes it's not based on theory so much as arbitrary rules set up by computer design people.
