What is the difference between Software Engineering and Computer Science?

By the way, i discoevered computer science is not IT....

What is the difference between Software Engineering and Computer Science?
software engineering is about designing and writing software to solve a computing problem.

computer science studies the theories behind computer architecture, programming techniques.
Reply:As you talked about software engineering, I recommend you the following website

http://www.freetutes.com/systemanalysis
Reply:nothing in my opinion. I did a degree in IT half the class were in computer science and half were in electrical engineering same degree different admin....

but I suppose Software Engineering is all about the software production lifecycle from requirements analysis to design - implementation - production -support of a piece of software and computer science is more along the maths of the actual languages (java, c++, c machine code, bits, bytes etc) and processes associated with the CPU. but they overlap

or you could wiki it ;-) but then what do they know ;-)
Reply:Computer science includes software engineering, and other areas such as hardware engineering, operating system design, graphics, AI, systems analysis, etc.
