What makes a high school student to get into taking the computer science as a major?

The question could be either way.

What creates interest to a high school student to get into computer science field???

What makes a high school student to get into taking the computer science as a major?
Want to be a hacker, crack the bank sites and get a lot of money...
Reply:The first thing you might want to do is determine if you're suited to the field. Try to find a personality test online called "Myers Briggs". It's a personality test that tells you what type of fields you might be a good fit in.

As far as the draw to the field. Well you have like puzzles, you can't be afraid of math, you also might get some satisfaction from building things. Interest, in my opinion is not created externally, it has to come from within, and the only way to find out if you'd like something is to try it out (for example take a couple of programming classes).
Reply:the online games
Reply:Typically games... but the trick is keeping their interest once they realise that not all CS work is about games.
